Installation:
Running on OSX:
  • TagMyFlac requires Java 1.6.0_26, which comes pre-installed on OSX Lion.
  • Just click the "launch" button and you're good to go!

Running on Windows (XP):
  • TagMyFlac requires Java 1.6.0_26. When you click the "launch" button an automated check is performed to see if you have the right version installed.
  • You will be presented with instructions, if you need to install or upgrade your Java version
  • With this Java version you might encounter: 'Microsoft JScript compilation error' while running TagMyFlac
  • If so: follow these instructions
    • In Windows XP, do a "Start"-"Run" and type "javaws", or "javaws -version" if using Java version 6 or greater. This can also be done by typing "javaws" or "javaws -viewer" from the command line. This will bring up the "Java Application Cache Viewer".
    • Click on the "Edit" menu option and select "Preferences" to bring up the "Java Control Panel". (This may also be done in Windows by selecting "Java" under "Settings"-"Control Panel")
    • Under the "General" tab, click on "Network Settings...".
    • Select "Direct Connection" and apply all changes.

Running on (Ubuntu) Linux:
  • TagMyFlac requires Java 1.6.0_26. When you click the "launch" button an automated check is performed to see if you have the right version installed.
  • Please check the instructions from your distribution to install the latest Java version.
  • On Ubuntu 11.04 you can use the "Ubuntu Software Centre" to get the Sun Java Runtime Environment.
  • Make sure that you enable the "Canonical Partners" to get access to the Sun JRE
  • FlacMyTac has not been tested against the OpenJDK
